Catkins burst
Before the heat
Still spring
Mirage of trees
Shimmer in reflection
Cold hard glass
Spiritless crow
Adorning the sidewalk
Window strike
The unfortunate demise of this crow gave me an opportunity to appreciate for a moment the beautiful fragility of its being. What a privilege to hold such a captivating creature before it is rendered back to dust and a poignant reminder that in a mere instant, the miracle of being can be extinguished.
