We sit holding hands
Contemplating our future
Shade of the old oak

I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog. 2. I appreciate the synergy of the fine photo and fine haiku. Recalling that acorns (of some oak species anyway) were a staple food for some of the Amerindians, I contemplate the future on 2 time scales:
            Acorn stew tonight?
No, let them feed squirrels or
            grow to be old oaks.

  7. Aww, sounds sweet and romantic! For some reason old oak trees are used for sentimental moments so they make me smile.
I like, “Tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree… “

  9. I like the idea of holding hands under an old oak tree. Such a sweet and nostalgic feeling in these words. When I think of oak trees, funny it shows my age. . . I think of the “Tie a yellow ribbon ’round the old oak tree. . . ” 🙂

  10. Oh, accidentally got interrupted by my Mom and may have rewritten same comment. It may come up similarly worded.
Feel free in deleting it, Christy. 🙂
