I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. Oh and the lesson is -‘don’t get too close to the water when turtle is near!

Yeah, one minute I was photographing 6 ducklings and the next minute I heard the large splash. I quickly counted heads, 5. Rats.

Very sad. The turtles here are like Piranha.

Congrats on quick action to seize the chance for a remarkable photo. U told the sad story clearly in the haiku, w/o getting mawkish. From the turtle’s viewpoint it is not a sad story at all, but it is hard to sympathize with snapping turtles.
