Summer Sand
Fine, white, sugar sand
Scrunches under tan bare feet
Children squeal with joy
Summer Pulse
Rhythmic pulse of waves
Short snore, long shush with each pass
Sun glints on turquoise
Summer Umbrellas
Totems in bright sun
Striped guards standing over chairs
Awaiting devotees

I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path.
Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog.

Thank you! It is pleasant right now but it will get very hot and steamy as summer progresses. Our hurricane season is about to start but at least with modern weather reporting we can evacuate if one hits our area. From what I understand, you experience monsoon season. I have never experienced anything like that. I will have to read up on it. It must effect every aspect of life, from mood to economy.

Oh yes, monsoon is round the corner and we are waiting eagerly for it to come. The continuous downpour and cloudy skies is at times irritating. I’ve not experienced hurricanes ever only cyclonic weather with high speed winds.
