Beats Stumbling Around in Silence

Buds contemplating
Spring’s gentle warming, light air.
An unexpected
Cold snap would be their demise.
Zapping sap and strength from boughs.

I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. 2. I especially like that last line: zapping sap and strength from boughs.

  3. When I wrote this I was thinking of last year. Although I am in FL, we do go below freezing once in a while. Last year everything was budding in March and we had a freak ice storm. I lost 4 trees. So this time of year is joyful with a smidgen of trepidation.
