Sleepy violet dawn
Contrasting marble white skin
Smooth curve of her hip
In response to Patrick Jennings Pic and a Word Challenge #331: Smooth
As saturnine night descends
I, wrapped in starlight
Shatter into rhombus patterns
Shadow fragile, carbon scattered
In response to Patrick Jennings Pic and a Word Challenge ##272: Starlight, # 270: Geometry and # 269: Perpendicular
In the soft early hours of the whippoorwill
The gleam of Earth’s temporary guest
Winds through our solar system
Its furtive tail rising above the tree tops
Hazy at first but growing more luminous by the minute
A race against the very sun that gives it measure
Your awe inspiring journey to places only imagined
Now the making of a magical morning for this earthling
And as you fade into the dayspring I bid farewell
-See you again in 6800 years
Ball of dust and ice
Hurtling through space and time
Another comet tale
In response to Patrick Jennings Pic and a Word Challenge #239: Winding and the Thesaurus Game Challenge: Clandestinely
My contemplation
Of all life’s impermanence
Stars subtle decay
In response to Patrick Jennings Pic and a Word Challenge #160: Contemplation and Carpe Diem Haiku Kai: Carpe Diem #1537 Decay
