Dancing Echoes

Beats Stumbling Around in Silence

Chaos

I am not a fan
Of this growing old
The chaos in my cells
Little girl inside
Old woman outside
The aches and pains
Of an uncooperative body
While my mind still runs through meadows
Memories of 60 years like yesterday
To a time where aging was as futuristic as star travel
“I can’t wait to grow up…”
I am running out of time
“When I am an adult I will…”
There is so much left I want to do
When will I be an adult?
Whispers, “When I am ashes

Author: Dancing Echoes

I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog. 4. At 10, 70 was not an age. It was just a number that applied to grandparents.

  5. Exactly! Perspective is everything. Like how time flies by now when one day in third grade was an eternity.

  6. Time truly does fly away, and it comes closer than we think. Those final two lines are very powerful and impactful. I just love the confessional honesty of it. ❤ ❤
