The meandering pattern of rivers and veins branches and horizons repeating the grace of symmetry found in nature where function overrules perfection Fractured fractals in balanced harmony sing the universal code of mathematical probability bringing imperfect beauty to life
In response to Patrick Jennings Pic and a Word Challenge #251: Mathematics
There was a book popular in the 1980s, “The Fractal Geometry of Nature”, written by the maestro of fractals, Benoit Mandlebrot. A beautiful book which would later inspire me to write a fractal terrain generation program as a degree-completing project in computer science.
This is a rather obtuse way of saying, I really grok the vision and insight in this poem, the way it brings the beauty of nature’s patterns and asymmetrical symmetries to mind, how nature replicates forms in all manner of proportion from grand to minute. And I also love how the photograph so concretely illustrates that vision and insight.
A mesmerizing poem about nature! Amazing photography skills. Rightly expressed the beauty of nature in simple words. I love reading poems on nature. It takes us to the other world. I regularly read Haiku poems on nature at https://www.valleyhaiku.org/. Do check out the site for the latest Haiku poems of famous writers.
Thank you. It means a lot as I very much admire your work. And I know what you mean! I try to be so careful as to not accidentally regurgitate something I’ve read somewhere.

Fractured fractals… lovely. Now I have to erase the phrase from my mind, so I don’t inadvertently steal it.

Our styles are different, but the admiration is mutual.
