In a world gone crazy with hate,
Divisiveness and exclusion I will fight with laser like focus
Double my efforts to be tolerant,
Patient and compassionate I will be the model of beauty and light
In order to reground myself, I may have to quit social media for a while. The constant state of anger and disappointment rising from the consistent stream of unthinkable wrongness crossing my feeds is just too much. That’s become the toughest “fight”, the one against my own creeping despair.
I totally get it. I feel the same way. I will say, seeing your posts and some from others in the same vein gave me hope and let me know I was not alone. I will put self preservation first of course but as long as I can stay vocal I will. We need to stick together and become one voice. Knowing I am not alone keeps me from crawling in a dark hole. So thank you for all you do.
You are not alone. Many of us who feel as you express so well in your poem, are staying out of the fray to stay sane. We will vote – it will be a landslide. 🙂
