In response to Patrick Jennings Pic and a Word Challenge #97: Current The Daily Post: Fragrance and inspired by Jennifer Nicole Wells amazing word and post: Decay
I was blown away by the colors and composition here.
There is also an intriguing mystery. While the cross is not as symmetric as I would expect for a DIY marker (a pet’s grave? an accident scene?), it is hard to imagine what else it could be. What lies beneath the swirling water?
I had already written the duck blind but it seemed a bit silly so I opted for the Jorio.
I love the A7. Evidently some photographers are having software problems with a noise reduction algorithm aka “the Star Eater” for astrophotography but I have not had those problems, knock wood. I still think Fuji has the best color but overall I am happy with the Sony and its features. How are you liking your Fuji?

Love the Fuji. Sometimes I jones a bit for the full-frame, but if I really, really wanted that I’d just drag out the Canon 5D… which I seem to never do. And I just added a new lens — 10-24mm zoom (equivalent to 15-36mm). Haven’t even mounted it on the camera yet. But I have a few weeks off and will be heading into some provincial and national parks… so there should be some good landscapes coming. 🙂
I went first with the longer zoom, 55-200mm (87-300mm), which captured that fab photo of the angel on the Ganges. Also upgraded the kit lens 18-55mm (27-87mm) to the fabulous 16-55mm (24-87mm) before going to India. Heavy, yes, but CRISP focus.
Until Fuji comes up with something wider than 10mm, about the only glass I’m considering is an upgrade on the longer zoom, and maybe a few fast primes in oft-used focal lengths (35, 50, 80 — ish).

The photo was taken on an angle which explains the asymmetry.
This would be a great photo for a challenge. I would love to read the stories folks come up with.
