I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. Mmmm… at first, the movement barely registers.
Something about the emptiness of the swings, the foul weather which no doubt caused the emptiness — together, these create a sense of forlorn melancholy. In a word, bleak.
A condition perfect for the words.
Not child’s play indeed. And it is our children, and our children’s children who will suffer the brunt of our failure.

Oh… and that little bit of movement makes all the trials you experienced to post this image well worth the effort.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I wanted barely perceptible movement of empty swings. We are toying with humanity’s future. I can’t help but think that if we are able to create and use weapons that can destroy the earth, then perhaps we don’t deserve to be here. The problem will be self correcting…..

Fortunately, humanity has proven to be nearly as resilient as life itself. Short of irradiating the global surface beyond survivability, some few of us, at least, will be here after the correction.
Perhaps we will learn the lesson then?

It may not be child’s play, but we must begin by educating the children… (and big business..)
