I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. 1. Kandinsky… and a bit Jackson Pollack too.

    Wonderfully insightful frame.

    And a potent use of alliterative rhyme/near-rhyme in a haiku.

    Sweet. =)

  2. Thank you Patrick. I will admit I looked at some Pollack too for comparison but my minds eye initially said Kandinsky so I stuck to it.

  3. Oh yeah, definitely more Kandinsky with all the straight lines. Pollock was all swirls and long, arcing lines. Compositionally, though, they’re very similar, setting up a field of patterns in which the eye can take a wandering adventure, never coming to rest on a single point or area intended to be the subject.

  4. Nature is my favorite artist. The words and photo capture a moment of art in time that will not be the same an hour later. Beautiful.

  5. Thank you Ali! So true. That aspect of time is what makes nature photography special and frustrating.

  8. “Stagnant autumn pond.” Oh! This line is inspiring and comforting! So simple, but elegant.
