I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog. Yes, the illusion of a smoky match flame is almost irresistible.

Confession: it was pure happy accident. I didn’t notice when taking the shot but saw the illusion when reviewing and I’m not one to waste a happy accident. I will take anything I can get.

Another score for serendipity. BTW, in ancient times I took an analog photo of house wren feeding chicks. Only *after* the film came back from the lab did I see that house wrens spread their tails when bracing against the nest box. They move fast.
