I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path.
Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog.

I simply love this.
A simple yet beautiful photo reminiscent of classical Chinese and Japanese art. (the swish of the tail is perfect)
And, as usual, I find myself playing in the garden of possible meanings – intended and interpreted.
Such a delight.

One aspect of my writing I strive for is to keep it open for personal interpretation. In some cases readers have brought an interpretation to my attention that I hadn’t thought of. I LOVE that!

Heh. I love that.
I meet with a writer’s group monthly. We bring in our work to read for the group and have it critiqued. Fascinating the insight I gain into my own work when looked at from other people’s perspectives. (Actually, the activity of critiquing other writers is equally valuable.)

Beautiful photo and writing. Reminds me of a story; a frog was sitting on a lily pad in a pond. A beautiful koi swims up. “Frog,” he says, “You are the ugliest creature in the pond.” Frog doesn’t speak, doesn’t move. “While I,” says the koi, “am the prettiest. I have a beautiful tail. You have no tail.” Frog remains silent, motionless. “I have long flowing fins. You have odd legs and webbed feet.” No response. “I am multicolored; you are drab. Frog! are you listening to me? I demand that you acknowledge my beauty!” Just then a heron swoops down, snatches the koi from the water and flies away. Frog says, “Bye-bye, pretty fish.” I was looking over my shoulder for herons for weeks after I heard that. 🙂 Great post, thanks.
