I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path.
Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog.

Wow. Excellent connection between the photo and poem. I have noticed all of your posts have that quality. They both enhance each other. In this case, with “Gather at the center point” and “Infinite fractals” you have evoked Strange Attractors, as described in Chaos/Fractal Theory as a point toward which numerical values tend to evolve (a gathering!). And the photo definitely has a perspective point, the sun. Nature is full of fractals, especially trees and clouds. Very cool.

Glad you liked it. I saw fractals when I looked at the photo but was afraid I might be stretching it a bit. Glad you and others see it too. Chaos Theory certainly describes my life.

My final project to earn my BSc in Computer Science was a fractal terrain generation program. It was quite clever, and I created some pretty wondrous mountain ranges, badlands in an open plain, some deep, rumpled canyons and even crumpled paper bags with it.
But not quite anything so lovely as this. 🙂

Heh. Nah. You can only do so much with a terrain generator. The real magic happens with rendering colours, textures, light, atmosphere and then adding a whole lot of painstakingly built add-ins. But, it was the coolest terrain generator any of us had ever seen. 🙂
