Higher Power

Intangible faith
The universal language
Of humans on earth

As spirituality and belief in a higher power or “God” is a universal sentiment, are human brains wired to believe in God because it is real or do we believe in God because is it a survival mechanism?
Faith that there is something beyond the gate is what propels us forward both as individuals and as a species. So as long as the universe has its way does it really matter if God is real? Life and the universe are no less miraculous.

I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. 1. Merci pour cette réflexion. Qu’on l’appelle dieu ou autre, l’univers est, et notre esprit y participe. Vrai: c’est en soi un miracle.

  3. Often, it seems, you and I are of a single mind.

    Provocative insight.

  5. Faith is a human reality shared by all. Even if it’s not God to some, it is still faith! Lovely!

  8. I like how you leave this open to interpretation. My agnostic grandfather would often ask those who were questioning other faiths, “How BIG Is your God?” Good, thought provoking question. I believe but also wonder. Hugs, Robin

  10. Wonderful take on faith. The poem and the photograph working together, deepening each til just as mysterious as the subject itself.

  11. Interesting, I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately – I was under full anesthesia years ago and before I went under I wondered what my dreams would be like. None. Simply woke up 5 hours later, I sometimes worry about that … or would I even know?

  12. That is a scary thought, just fading to black nothingness.

  13. I know right? I have a spiritual basis in my life, but I really do hope this human thing is just a vessel …
