Blue tears flow freely
I can no longer hide
My burning desires
In a room full of people
Yet never so alone
My White Cheshire smile
You will see
What you want to see
And I will let you
I will walk this high wire
With no harness
No safety net
Fuck the fear of judgement
Bonds that must be broken
This is MY life’s passage
Lucky for me
These Red scars are internal
The gateway to freedom isn’t free
…….It has a price

I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path.
Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog.

Wonderfully composed, the voice real and flowing perfectly with the sentiment.

Thank you. These personal posts always give me angst so I appreciate your compliment.

Mmmmm… it seems to me that angst and pain and frustration are what this poem deftly expresses. And…… ultimately, escape.
Freedom, as this more subtly engages, does not come with the escape, but much later, as what is now past diminishes in its power over us.
So, WOW. And kudos. Emotion powerfully expressed. Brought to life.

Thank you and you are absolutely correct in your assessment. Escape is impassioned and freedom is calm. But I cannot have one without the other coming first. I am by nature a restless searcher and peace does not come easily to me. I must break my self imposed boundaries before enlightenment can begin and I must drop my bags at the door -so to speak.

🙂 Wise are you, young Paduan.
You, Elusive Trope and I appear to be travelling in parallel lines of late. Perhaps we will meet at the vanishing point, converging on infinity.

I’ll put it on my calendar. No, wait…

Patrick, to be quite honest I have a list of about ten people I follow that I want to meet in person. Maybe for coffee, maybe an impromptu photo walk. This is a case of a dream I want to turn into reality.

Hmmmm…. we are quickly approaching that time of year when many Canadians descend on Florida… Mostly because the rest of the year it’s just too damn hot and humed there! ; )

True that. We are snow bird paradise. You would be more than welcome anytime. I have a lot of family in Portland, OR. It has been two years since my last visit and I am due. By the way, JNW lives about five hours east of me in Jax. I have often thought of grabbing my camera and paying her a visit too.

I love Portland. : )
Went through Jax a bazillion years ago … 1997, on a bit of a North America circumnavigation. (Same trip I took all the Route 66 photos. Overnighted somewhere east of there, in a Gulf-front RV park. ’twas nice. 🙂

You could do a reverse snow bird, and come to temperate Vancouver when the weather down there goes beyond sultry heat to just plain icky… <smile>

Reverse Snowbird, now that sounds like a plan! Last time I was in Portland it was August which was beautiful compared to the sauna going on here. Not sure where the RV park you stayed in was located but there were/are not too many along the Gulf Coast. Back then there was one about two miles from my house. That park is now a high rise condo 😦

Ooops… Went through Tallahassee .. not Jax. I have the route travelled, but didn’t mark the overnights. The RV park was pretty rustic and the area sparsely populated. High rise condos seems … implausible. 😉

Perdido was rustic back then. Sadly hurricane Ivan changed a lot of that. But it sounds like you might have been closer to Cape San Blas. It is still beautiful and somewhat unspoiled.

I know it’s not about the competition, especially not with this subject matter, but I’ve started to cast votes and you are my winner for this week, for the image and the sentiment. ❤
