I’m drawn to explore
The mysterious keyhole
Made of tumbled rock
Delicate succulents drape
The stone walls like paint spatter

My Momma taught me not to stick my head where it doesn’t belong but I can’t help it.

I admire the composition and depth of field in the photo. The last 2 lines of the poem are an eloquent way to call attention to the plants’ major contribution to the scene.

Thank you! I find the ice plants intriguing. Such a delicate pastel color. They didn’t grow in the NE so they were new to me when I moved to CA.
