Harvest Moon

Brisk harvest twilight
Distant honking flock heads south
Shifting arrow pierces moon

As I lift my face
Towards the heavenly night sky
Senses of fall bring a smile

I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog. 9. How stunning! What wonderful timing you had to get this shot. Thank you for sharing this image with us. And your beautiful accompanying poem too!

  10. Thank you! I only wish I could have such lucky timing so I have to confess, timing had nothing to do with it. I took the moon photo, tinted it to look like dusk and then added the geese by inserting > signs in a row. Yes, I’m a big fat cheater but I managed to match the image in my head. So it is more my artistic rendering than a pure photo.

  11. Now I am impressed by your skill to pull that off. Well done for imagining and then actually creating it!

  12. Whew, I was afraid you might “unfollow” once you found out I was a CHEATER. So thank you. To be honest, I used to be a big proponent of “pure” photos and I admire those that do it. I decided that for me, whatever visual medium supports the emotion I am trying to portray is an acceptable goal.

  13. If you are honest, then cool. Creativity is stifled by ‘politically correct’ judgemental thinking. You should be proud of such cleverness me thinks. But what do I know 😉
