I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path. 3. Thank you! I just happened upon that tree today. I was trying to get a clear shot of the storm behind it and realized the tree was much more interesting.

  7. Such an incredible photo. I was afraid you were going to say you didn’t take it. So glad that you did because now I can continue to rave on about it. This is by far the most beautiful and creepiest photo submitted for this prompt. Superior work!!!!

  8. Nothing like a gnarly old black tree against a white background to suggest creepy. Nice job. Looks great. And thanks for stopping by my blog.

  11. Wow, thank you! I didn’t even have to tweak it too much. I did boost the contrast a bit and then the shadow of the branch popped out. It looked like a claw reaching out to grab the reader. That is how I came up with the poem. I love happy accidents!

  12. Well this photo deserves even wider circulation. If there is any contest you could enter it in, I can’t imagine it not being chosen. I really do think it is exceptional.

  15. I was very lucky. I was trespassing (which I don’t normally do) to get the clouds and when I came to the clearing it was like “holy cow this tree is amazing, I’d better shoot fast before I get caught”.

  16. Great photograph… I think it is beautiful, however…

  17. I like dark tree silhouettes against a cloudy sky. It is funny but I see this as beautiful and surprisingly not creepy! 🙂

  18. Thank you. I see beauty in the tree and most definitely in in the sky too. The clouds were amazing on Sunday. Really cool storms kept rolling in. As for the tree, if I owned the property the dead tree would stay until it fell down on its own.
