I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path.
Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog.

Yes it is incredible. At night when there is a full moon the dunes can really look like snow drifts. And sometimes we have to shovel it too -just like snow (but not as heavy). It is protected through building codes so that dark fill or red clay does not get mixed in and ruin it’s pristine whiteness.

This shot is actually at Orange Beach Alabama. Our entire gulf coast from Orange Beach, AL across FL past Panama City has this fine, high silica “sugar” sand. Most sand is made from broken coral, shell or darker rock. We have the prettiest beaches in FL.

Sure passes for snow for me. How white and beautiful. I remember trying to make sandmen soon after we moved to Florida from Indiana.
