Spectacular! Queen and I are planning to ride Route 66 next year in Sept, I wonder how close we get to Yosemite NP?

OK, “close” is a relative term. Compared to Australia, you’ll be pretty close. You will be approx 450 miles or 724 km from Yosemite from the Lake Havasu area. Yosemite is probably my favorite park ever and I have been many times. Pt Lobos in Carmel also has a special place in my heart and well worth the trip (even though it is small). You will be very close to the Mojave National Preserve, Death Valley, Sequoia National Forest and the Grand Canyon -all spectacular in their own right. The Grand Canyon has a big music festival late August/early September too. But Yosemite is special. If you are biking then I am jealous. I have always traveled across country by car which doesn’t give you the same tactile feel or the smell of the area. I am so happy to hear you are planning this trip with Queen. You guys deserve it.

I’ll be heading with my Mom out that way to visit family and hopefully see some sights. Looking forward to it! Thanks for the preview. 🙂
