I am a scientist by trade and artist by soul. My creative outlet used to be dancing but due to injuries and age, I must now find another path. I am hoping my writing, poetry and photography can be this new path.
Awards: While I am grateful and honored for the numerous nominations, I don’t have time to respond to them with the attention they deserve, so for the most part, I am an award free blog.

He died almost 2 years ago. I had not been to the cemetery since until a friend died this fall from cancer. He was buried at the same National cemetery, Barrancus, which is right down the street from me. I wanted to check out the stone and make sure it was correct. Military cemeteries are overwhelming in that they are a virtual sea of identical stones.

The facts on the stone were correct, yes but the whole experience was surreal. My goal is to post a piece about his last 6 weeks but it is a hard topic not just because of the emotion but because of the whole way it went down. A real bummer -but my hope is to relate my experience in a way that might help others. That is something you do well. You interject humor into descriptions of painful experiences without being flippant or insensitive.

Yes, surreal it would be. That is an excellent description of my writing style, though I wish it described something a whole lot more deliberate than it feels. I’m glad helps but I dont set out to help. I’m glad its funny without being dismissive but I wouldn’t have the first clue about how to replicate or teach that…it’s as natural as it is odd for me. I like your style Christy, I am sure you will do both the story and your memories justice…you also have an untapped talent fir the written word. You’ve got my email if you need a hand, Love.
